Notes	Robinson 1905 listed as a beerhouse. Licensee 1905 – John Bedford. The building was bought by Tom Gomersall who demolished the pub and built a house on the site called “White Horse” (David Atkinson Archive). Comments on 7 & 8 June 2026 from Mike Lee; "My parents kept the White Horse in East Ardsley in the 1950's.  It was located at the junction of Fall Lane and Cave Lane.  It was a solidly built building with stables, bowling green and a football pitch.  It had been on the site of an earlier pub, the Pegasus, and was still locally known as the "Peg".  It has since been demolished to make way for housing.  My father , who was called, Walter Lee, took up the tenancy in 1953 and left in the early 1960's.  I don't have any photographs.  I mentioned ealier that the pub was built on the site of a former pub, the Pegasus.  I don't know of any documentary evidence of its existence but it was well known locally as evidenced by the White Horse being known as the 'Peg' as late as the 1950's.  I've looked at old maps and the 252 OS map, revised in 1905, shows a building footprint as I remember it but the 1892 map shows a different shape.  So I guess the change from  Pegasus to the Ehite Horse happened between tese dates.  The later map identifies the area used as a football pitch in the 1950's as a cricket field complete with pavilion!  In the 1950's the pub was tied to and probably owned by Bentley's Yorkshire Brewery (BYB)."
